May YHWH's blessings be upon you,
and may His
presence be with you.
Here's for some inspiration this
Shabbat,
and have a blessed Pesach* just coming
up.
--The Coover Family
*Passover
A Father's Psalm
Yahweh is my
heavenly Father, I shall not fear,
For
the awsome responsibility of parenthood shall not overwhelm me.
He takes away my heavy
burdens and gives me rest.
He
leads me into a quiet place.
He teaches me the ways
of a Father.
He
replaces my discouragement with peace.
He helps me make wise
decisions for my family's sake.
When death touches one
of mine, He comforts me.
He
is not offendedwhen I cry out, "Why?"
But understands the
heartbreak of an earth-bound soul.
Even
in the presence of sorrow He gives me blessings of
Joy and Work for my
hands to do.
He enables me to
prepare a bountiful table before my children
And
to care for their needs.
My heart is overflowing
with gratitude for His goodness;
My
children shall join in His praise;
I shall invite Him to
dwell in our home all the days of our lives;
And
I shall lead my loved ones to dwell in His house forever.
Ten Commandments
For Husbands
1. Worship Yahweh
your Elohim and learn of Him, for He is love.
2.Make not an idol of
business, hobbies or possessions,
for then will you
be a stranger to your
children,
denying them the
precious gift of your companionship.
3. Be not a
hypocrite for your family can perceive who you
are
and so they shall
be.
4. Put your wife before
mother, father, sons or daughters;
for she is your
companion all the days spent on this
earth
and those that reach
into eternity.
5. Honor your
mother-in-law and your father-in-law
and blame
not all your wife's faults upon them --
consider, without them
she would be impossible.
6. Guard against
excessive work, eating or committee meetings;
for a healthy
body is a gift from heaven, a necessity to the
security
of your loved ones.
7. Speak the words "I
love you!" daily to your wife, so that
the chores
of keeping house will be lifted out of the
drudgery
into a labor of love.
8. Cherish the respect
of your children-- for it must be earned;
and only then
will they cherish your counsel.
9. Create an atmosphere
of happiness about you, then will your
family love to be
near you all the days of your
life.
10. Praise Yahweh for
all your blessings, for a grateful
heart will enable
Yahweh to make the difficulties of life
stepping
stones toward Heaven.
Beautiful Attitudes
How blest is that
woman who knows her need of Yahweh, for only then can others find a bit
of
heaven in her
presence.
Blessed is that
woman who finds in sorrow the comfort of a living Elohim, who learns
that
although
life is burdened with unhappiness, a heart
overflowing with gratitude can seek and
find such
fullness of joy that all bitterness is crowded
out.
Happy is the family of
the woman who possesses a gentle spirit. Her husband will place his
world
at her feet, her
children will come often to her door. She truly listens and surely hears.
How blest is that woman
who yearns for justice and does something about it: shares her home
with the homeless, her
food with the hungry, her joy with the desolate, yet cares for the
needs of her own
family, including them in sharing.
Happy is that woman who
knows how to forgive, who cannot hold a grudge and asks others
for
forgiveness.
Divine forgiveness shall be hers.
Happy is that woman
whose heart is pure, swept clean of self-pity, nagging and complaints.
In
her heart is abundant
love for her husband. So happy will her marriage be that others
will
see Yahweh in her
home. Even their children shall behold Him.
How blest is the woman
who is a peacemaker, sharing not gossip nor faultfinding. She
studies
her children to learn
how to bring peace to them. She has self-esteem because Yahweh is
her
Father. Her children
respect her because she is fair and just. She teaches them how to
become
members of Yahweh's
family. Hevenly peace shall dwell deep within her soul.
Can this woman be happy
when she has been misunderstood, mistreated, unappreciated? Yes,
for
she has exchanged her
will for Yahweh's peace, joy ,and love, and she will be given Yahweh's
crowning
gift---heaven!
