During the
period of Betrothal, which is as binding as the Marriage
ceremony itself, Lindsey and I are
officially and
publically
promised to each other until death do us part, as
"husband"
and "wife" (cf. Matt. 1:18,19, 24,25; Luke 2:4-6).
Until the consummation when we become Basar Echad
or
One
Flesh, however, (traditionally several months to
a year),
we
will
refrain from physical touch, focusing instead on be-
coming
Ruach
Echad or One Spirit, as we set a date for our
Kiddushin
or
Wedding Ceremony and prepare a place where
we will
spend our first year together, in accordance with:
Devarim
(Deuteronomy) 24:5
"When a man
hath taken a new wife... there shall be no
matter
imposed
upon him: but he shall be free at home one
year,
and shall
cheer up his wife whom he hath taken."
Each of
us, having never given ourselves
emotionally
or
physically to another (via. either
"dating"
or courtship),
are
truly the other's "One and Only", as Yahweh
intends
it to be,
and for this we are eternally grateful. Please share
in our Simcha (joy) with us!
Shalom
Aleichem

Matthew & Lindsey
